I saw the movie, starring Anne Bancroft, many years ago. Perhaps it is the lack of explanatory text. This charming classic, first published inbrings together twenty years of correspondence between Helene Hanff, a freelance writer living in Hanf York City, and a used-book dealer in London.
Now, tied down domestically and cut off from London, I felt myself sinking into oblivion. It is, actually, not entirely unlike what I imagine what would happen if one were to follow the course of a GR-forged correspondence across two crpss, only that I hope you folks are all still around to reap the royalty benefits by then. I was working for a professor who mentioned to me that it was ahistorical.
